The Plan
McWhinney and the project team are starting the visioning and design process for the 13-acre site. We are excited about ways we can upgrade and modernize the existing hotel tower while retaining some of the original character of public spaces like the historic Indian Room and Frank Sinatra’s Lounge. The addition of a world-class spa and wellness retreat, enhanced outdoor and gathering spaces, and a smattering of detached guest cottages are planned. Our award-winning design team understands the need to maintain balance with the Lake Tahoe environment and surrounding community. We are excited to engage with the community and meet with regulatory officials as the plan takes shape. The plan will include much needed environmental improvements to the site.
